Have you thought about trying offline classifieds. You can make money by putting ads in newspaper classifieds. You could also put it in the sunday flyers etc...
How about putting ads in magazines. Just think of the possiblities. You make a ad with great copy and then put a url at the bottom that goes to the site.
How do you do this for a affiliate program. Well you need to get your own domain and then frame the vendor site. You can do this by getting a domain name at www.godaddy.com . Then where it says forward domain you put in your affiliate link. Then you have the option of masking the site. This will hide your affiliate link. You choose that option. Now when promoting the affiliate product all the potential customer will see is your own domain.
Thus the customer types in your link form your ad. It goes to your domain. But they see the vendor site framed. They purchase and you make your commision. The great thing about this is that if they book mark the site they will always use your affiliate link when they revisit. Also, you get the word of mouth factor. If someone likes the site product that you recommended they think the product site was your site. They refer a friend and you make more money. This is a massive advantage.
So what will this cost you? You will need to buy the ad. You need a Dot Com. The domain costs about $10 at godaddy. You can get .info cheaper for like 1.99 but I don't recommend that for this purpose. Most people will think it is a .com . Thus, make sure you use a .com . It helps if the URL is similar to the vendors or product name. This way it is easy for the prospecs to remember.
Classified ads in newspapers are very cost effective. Advertising in magazines is more expensive. By the way some of the newspapers and magazines also are online. You just need to check. You could get double exposure.
